This position is perhaps one of the most important for any airline, virtual or real world and it has been seriously needed here at Great Lakes International for some time now.
Here is a brief description of the position:
Assist pilots in fuel planning and find suitable flight planning software (free and payware)
Design flight operations manual containing flight policies
Create company preferred flight plans for all flights
Work with the CFO to find the best aircraft for each route
Assist pilots in correct operation of their aircraft
Monitor flight reports and offer suggestions to pilots to further expand their profitability
The Director of Flight Operations also holds the Title of Chief Pilot, this position includes
Design and operate a maintenance schedule for all aircraft (taking aircraft in and out of service)
Supervise the overall performance of flight personnel
Must stay current with current flight operation rules and regulations
The level of commitment for this position is very important, our current staff at Great Lakes International takes this business very seriously and the applicant should as well. Trust is the main component of any business relationship and this position is no different.
