In an earlier thread about the E35, someone was telling me that I can fly a similar plane.

Situation:

I click on GLE Finances from the front page, scroll down, and notice that tail N301GL, a Dash 8, hasn't been flown since October 5th.

I open VAFS, search for the tail #, and decide to run flight 308.  Its D82, tail #N301GL, from Indy to Cleveland.

I check the aircraft substitution page and notice that I can fly the E20 in lieu of the Dash.  Great.  I pull up the E20 in FSX, assign the flight number and tail number of N301GL, and run the flight.

As far as Great Lakes financials go, does flying the E20 still credit the Dash N301GL with the flight?  Or will it assign a random E20 as having the flight?  Since my original plan was to get N301GL a flight, if I was to substitute in the E20, will that invalidate the flight for the N301GL tail number?

I think Im making it clear, but as Im re-reading it, its sounding confusing.  Paul stated earlier that it is beneficial to Great Lakes if we are making sure we are rotating in aircraft that havent been flown in a while.  Thats why Im curious as to what aircraft gets credit for the flight if you were to substitute for a different approved aircraft.

Thanks

Adam

If you fly a route with a different plane the original equipment will get the credit.

Original equipment: Dash 8-200

Equipment used: ERJ135

Equipment credited: Dash 8-200.

This is a fine way to accomplish the goal of getting a seldom used aircraft operating again.  I dont like using a jet on a turboprop route but it will do fine for now.

Thank You

Thanks Paul....  Exactly the response I was looking for.

I wont be using crazy substitutes.... Just the "approved" from that linked page.

There is probably a topic in the forum somewhere, but on the website, look under "GLE Hubs." On the home page for each hub, there is a link called "Aircraft Substitutions."
